Educational Background

  • B.S. in Computer Science (1998), Politehnica Univeristy of Bucharest, Bucharest, Romania
  • M. S. in Computer Science (2003), Rice University
  • Currently, PhD Candidate, Rice University

Research Experience

Gabriel Marin's interests fall in the area of performance analysis, compiler optimizations and operating systems. Currently, he is working on tools for automatic understanding of how an application's characteristics scale with problem size, and predicting an application's performance on different architectures.

Previously, he has been involved in the HPCToolkit project, a tool for top-down analysis of node performance.
